- About the Project
The meaning of the Battle of Gallipoli for IEL, Istanbul Erkek Lisesi (Istanbul High School for Boys) students is different. The Yellow-Blacks lost all of their senior students who volunteered for the war at 03:30 in the morning on May 19, 1915. The IEL students, whose story of their colors is based on this great loss, keep watch at Kırmızısırt Hill every year on the night of May 18-19. Only after this watch do new students gain the right to wear the school colors uniforms.
