The idea for the SARISIYAH Magazine emerged in 2009. The first issue was published in the summer of 2010. The magazine was designed with a different approach, far beyond being a classic alumni association magazine. The goal was to create a sustainable publication with content and design that could compete with top-tier magazines sold in the market, and that would cover its own budget from advertising. This goal was achieved from the first issue. The magazine, which was printed in 6,000 copies and distributed free of charge to IEL graduates, covers a different topic in each issue. The most important feature of SARISIYAH is that its name is not on the cover. This choice was made due to the recognition of the yellow-black colors and the Istanbul Erkek Lisesi (İstanbul High School for Boys) logo.
